MONGOLIAN ELECTRONIC ID CARD

Mongolian electronic ID card is the primary identification document of Mongolian nationals. Mongolian citizens who have reached the age of 16 are obligated to apply for Mongolian electronic ID card in-person, because it required registration of unique physical data of the applicants. ID card is also renewed at age of 25 and 45 and each renewal requires in-person ID card registration of unique physical data at the nearest State Civil Registry Office in Mongolia or Mongolian Diplomatic Missions.

After the application is completed, your Mongolian electronic ID card will be delivered to the Embassy of Mongolia for collection. Please note that the time of arrival of your electronic ID card may vary depending on the frequency of the Mongolian official mail delivery service.

Requirements:

  • Mongolian birth certificate and Mongolian passport for applicants of 16 years of age.
  • Expired electronic ID card /if lost, similar Mongolian document/ for ID card renewal at ages of 25 and 45.
  • Filled in Application Form.

 

MONGOLIAN BIRTH REGISTRATION

Children born abroad to Mongolian parents or a parent are eligible for Mongolian citizenship registration and issued Mongolian birth certificates. By law, the parents of the newly born are obligated to register the birth of their child within 30 days after the birth.

Please note that by law Mongolia does not recognize dual citizenship and if the parents fail to register their childs birth within legal time limit, additional documents proving that the child had not obtained citizenship of another country will be required. If your child is registered as a citizen of any other country, your child will not be issued a Mongolian birth certificate.

 

 

MONGOLIAN MARRIAGE REGISTRATION

Article 7.1 of the Civil Registration Law of Mongolia states that those who wish to get married must prepare the following documents and register in person in the marriage register. Citizens who register their marriage must come to the Embassy in person to confirm their family.

Please note that couples registering their families will have their own witnesses and must be citizens of Mongolia over the age of 18 according to the law.
