‘SHINE TSAS’ CALLIGRAPHY EXHIBITION OPENS
The “Shine Tsas” (New Snow) calligraphy exhibition, organized annually by the Mongolian Unified Calligraphy Art Association (MUCAA), was officially opened on February 24 at the Natural History Museum of Mongolia for the 19th consecutive year.
First initiated in 2007 by Grand Master of Calligraphy Battumur D., the exhibition is known for selecting and showcasing the very best works in calligraphy, the organizers emphasized.
This year, more than 70 works by 56 artists from Mongolia, Russia, and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China were submitted to the exhibition. The best pieces have been selected and are now being presented to the public.
During the opening ceremony, two awards were presented: the “Silver Gerege” named after the late Grand Master of Calligraphy Battumur D., and the “Best Young Calligrapher” award.
The exhibition will run until March 1.
