PRESIDENT KHURELSUKH UKHNAA MEETS UN SECRETARY-GENERAL ANTONIO GUTERRES

The President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is participating in the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa yesterday met UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

The President noted that Mongolia prioritizes the relations and cooperation with the United Nations, and strives to make contribution to solving global pressing issues within the framework of the UN. The President confirmed Mongolia’s commitment to closely cooperate with the United Nations in realizing its initiatives towards ensuring the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, combatting climate change, and in peacekeeping.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his high appreciation of Mongolia, which has stable political and economic development and a peace-loving country, for its contribution in solving regional and international problems and UN activities for development and peacekeeping. Particularly the UN Secretary-General underscored Mongolia’s valuable contribution to the global efforts to ensure the security in Northeast Asia and combat climate change.
