PASSPORT

Mongolian citizens who are permanently or temporarily residing the Kingdom of Thailand can apply for a new Mongolian passport directly at the Consular section of the Embassy of Mongolia in Bangkok.

Mongolian passport applicants above the age of 16 are required to have valid citizens ID card registry. For applicants below the age of 16, their parent or legal guardian may apply for passport on their behalf.

Passport application service is an in-person service; therefore, applicants of all ages must make service appointment beforehand and apply for passport in-person.

Once you have applied for a Mongolian passport, it will be printed in Mongolia and delivered to the Embassy of Mongolia in Bangkok within 2 months. Please note that the time of arrival of your passport may vary depending on the frequency of the Mongolian official mail delivery service.

Passport application requirements:

  • Valid citizens ID card or previous passport /for the applicants aged above 16/
  • Birth certificate /for the applicants aged below 16/
  • Passport photo /in digital/
  • Passport application form

 

EMERGENCY TRAVEL DOCUMENT

Emergency Travel Document /ETD/ of Mongolia allows Mongolian nationals to travel urgently from outside the Mongolia when they can’t use their passport, such as if it’s lost, stolen, or damaged. It’s a temporary travel document valid for a duration of time, designed for a single returning trip to Mongolia.

Mongolian nationals who are under following circumstances can apply for Mongolian Emergency travel document:

  • The passport is lost, destroyed, damaged, or invalidated while travelling in the Kingdom of Thailand,
  • Who are required to return to Mongolia due to family emergency,
  • Newly born Mongolian citizen who are required return to Mongolia,

If you are in urgent need of an ETD, you can make your request for an ETD in-person with consular service appointment at the Consular section of the Embassy of Mongolia in Bangkok.

Travel Document application requirements:

  • ETD request written by hand
  • Mongolian citizens ID or similar document
  • In the case of lost or stolen passport, a police report or confirmation for the lost and stolen
  • Passport size photo /2 copies/
